Upcoming Amitié Events

We organise various social events through the year usually on a not for profit basis but simply to fulfil the Amitie (friendship) part of our motto Amitie and Charite. Even our Council meetings - which are held 6 times during the year - are an opportunity for members to meet up with a hearty supper always following the meeting. Any member is welcome to sit in on these meetings and join the Council members at the supper.

In addition to these meetings we have three tavern evenings a year held at The George in Borough Road and other famous taverns in London. There is also a Gala Dinner where members and their partners and friends can dine at The RAF Club in Piccadilly in splendid style. Hopefully, the Covid restrictions will be lifted early in the New Year and we will be able to resume our Amitie activities.

Other events and visits are organised on a sporadic basis - a recent example being a pre Christmas Carol concert in December 2019 where we were entertained by "a capella" singing group "No Strings Attached" and raised more than £700 for the President's Project. Other visits we have done in recent years include St. Pauls Cathedral for a guided tour and lunch, the Freemasons Hall in London, the Whitechapel Bell Foundry, The College of Arms, The Foundling Museum, the Emirates Arsenal FC Stadium, the V and A Museum of Childhood in Bethnal Green and the Tower of London. In addition we have two accomplished marathon runners amongst our members who have raised money for our President's Project where members have met to cheer them on.
